Three square meals a day. It is fundamental for proper nutrition. But a nourishing breakfast, hearty lunch and wholesome dinner are distant dreams for people in slavery. They are typically fed just enough to stay alive to work another day.

Donating to Free the Slaves is like putting food on the table for some of the world’s most deprived families. Slavery survivors are paid for their labor. Freedom allows them to provide nourishing meals for their children and themselves.

Harvard University researchers have documented the increase in villagers eating three meals a day when the Free the Slaves community-focused strategy liberates an entire village from modern slavery. And, as we all know, children who aren’t hungry do better in school. People with an adequate diet are healthier. Nutrition is essential to a fulfilling life, and it starts with freedom.

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, I hope you will take a moment to make or renew your annual contribution to Free the Slaves. Thanks.

Can you help end the conditions that cause modern slavery?
