It must have seemed like an impossible challenge more than 150 years ago, that the moral imperative to end the slave trade and injustice it inflicted on Africans could actually succeed. Back then, slavery was considered ethically acceptable and economically necessary. Still, abolitionists won. They got slavery outlawed.

But the job isn’t finished, and we now follow in their footsteps.

Today, it might seem equally impossible to liberate 40 million people from modern forms of slavery around the world. But we will win, again.

Will you become a modern abolitionist by supporting the historic mission of Free the Slaves to finally end slavery forever?

Slavery is just as immoral and racist as it always was. Boys whipped into submission on fishing boats in Ghana, men locked in shackles at plantations in Pakistan, girls forced into domestic servitude in private homes in Haiti, women abused in brothels worldwide.

Vulnerable people from marginalized groups are exploited through force, fraud and coercion in mining, fishing, construction, manufacturing, farming, logging and many other industries.

You can end this by changing the social, economic and political conditions that allow slavery to still exist. That’s the strategy Free the Slaves has successfully used to help liberate more than 14,000 people already. Systemic change brings freedom for all, lifelong freedom.

This holiday season, give a gift that makes history. Give freedom.

It takes just 90 seconds to visit the Free the Slaves website and contribute to the cause of justice and equality. Every contribution brings us closer to a world without slavery.

Can you help end the conditions that cause modern slavery?
