Free the Slaves serves as the secretariat for the annual Freedom from Slavery Forum. This gathering of anti-slavery leaders from around the world is designed to create a collegial space where leaders can coalesce, create partnerships, discuss promising practices, and develop a shared agenda for action. In the most recent forum in December 2019, leaders from 45 organizations in 20 countries participated in the forum. Participants built relationships and prioritized actions in areas such as advocacy, monitoring and evaluation, and collaboration with other sectors.

Acclaimed humanitarian photographer Lisa Kristine’s TED Talk, based on her work with Free the Slaves, is called Photos that Bear Witness to Modern Slavery. University Lectures
Free the Slaves experts are often asked to address academic gatherings about the nature of modern slavery and our groundbreaking strategy for creating slavery-free communities. By sharing our model for change with peers and professors, and inviting scrutiny of our techniques and results, we strengthen the intellectual foundation for our front-line activities and the credibility of our results. By educating students, we inspire and nuture the next generation of anti-slavery activists. Follow the FTS Blog for coverage of our presentations at university events.
